Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya fell cheaply in the IPL 2024 clash against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium just as the visitors were about to tee off. The all-rounder missed a full-toss from Avesh Khan and was dismissed after scoring only 10 off as many deliveries.
The dismissal took place in the 19th over of the innings as Avesh fired a full toss into the middle and leg stump. Pandya missed it completely and the umpire immediately raised the finger. Pandya reviewed it, but ball-tracking showed that it would have struck the leg stump.

The five-time champions had a poor start after Hardik chose to bat first, losing Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan for single-figure scores. Sandeep Sharma, who dismissed Ishan Kishan, also got the massive wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.
Yuzvendra Chahal went on to claim his 200th IPL wicket by dismissing Mohammad Nabi in his first over. Nevertheless, Nehal Wadhera and Tilak Varma plotted an outstanding recovery with their 99-run stand off only 52 deliveries. The former top-scored with 65, while Wadhera missed a well-deserved half-century by a run.
Sandeep Sharma claimed his maiden IPL fifer to help RR limit MI to 179
Sandeep Sharma, who replaced Kuldeep Sen in the playing XI, was sensational with the ball in Jaipur tonight. After dismissing Ishan and Suryakumar, the 30-year-old got rid of Tilak Varma and Gerald Coetzee. The fifer came in the final over with Tim David's scalp. Trent Boult also chipped in with one wicket, while Yuzvendra Chahal and Avesh Khan snared one each.
Mumbai Indians have already lost once to the Royals earlier in the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium by six wickets as the former managed a paltry 125 in 20 overs. The Royals are currently the top-ranked team with six wins in seven matches, while Mumbai has had a stuttering campaign so far.
