[Watch] Harleen Deol smashes maiden century during IND-W vs WI-W 2nd ODI 2024

Indian cricketer Harleen Deol marked her maiden international century in the second match of the three-game ODI series against the West Indies on Tuesday, December 24. The match is being held at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Coming in at No. 3, Deol was dropped on 19 by Deandra Dottin. However, she quickly settled in and brought up her fifty off 62 balls. The 26-year-old then shifted gears and completed her maiden century with a boundary off 98 balls.

Deol ended with an impressive 115 off 103 balls, including 16 boundaries. In her 15th ODI, the right-handed batter has now accumulated 436 runs at an average of 33.53, with two fifties and one century to her name.


Harleen Deol’s hundred helps India post their joint-highest total in ODIs

India won the toss and elected to bat. The opening pair of Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put together an excellent 110-run partnership off 99 balls for the first wicket. Smriti was the first to depart after a mix-up, scoring a solid 53 off 47 balls with seven boundaries and two sixes.

Pratika, playing in her second ODI, brought up her maiden fifty, finishing with 76 off 86 balls, including 10 boundaries and one six. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 22 off 18 balls.

Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues then formed a stunning 116-run partnership off just 71 balls for the fourth wicket. During this stand, Deol scored her maiden century, finishing with 115 off 103 balls. Rodrigues also impressed, making 52 off 36 balls with six boundaries and one six.

The Women in Blue concluded their innings at 358/5 after 50 overs, matching their highest team total of 358/2, which they set against Ireland in 2017.

India will aim to seal the series with one game to spare, having already won the first ODI by 211 runs.
