Australian commentator James Brayshaw called ace Indian batter Virat Kohli a "nicking machine" when describing the latter's dismissal on air. Kohli was dismissed for five runs in 29 balls during the chase in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Kohli had played a sedate knock until his dismissal where he flashed for one outside the off stump. The ball took the outside edge and flew straight to Usman Khawaja in the slips. Former Australian batter Callum Ferguson who was on air, added to the dismissal and said:
"Great delivery from Mitch Starc, shaped the ball back into him beautifully. He set him up beautifully in the last over and again Virat Kohli cannot help himself around the fifth or sixth stump line, flashing outside the off stump. Usman Khawaja is catching beautifully today"
Brayshaw, in response to Ferguson's comment, said:
"He has turned into a nicking machine, he cannot help himself. Three for 33, game on"

Virat Kohli's poor run of form continues in BGT 24-25
Virat Kohli has had a poor Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. In the four Tests he has played so far, he has batted in seven innings, scoring 167 runs at an average of 27.83.
Kohli started the series with a bang, scoring his 81st hundred in the first Test in Perth, which India won by 295 runs. Post that, the 36-year-old hasn't been able to set the stage alight, recording scores of 7,11, 3, 36, and 5. He was also involved in a little scuffle with Australian debutant Sam Konstas in the fourth Test, for which he faced a lot of flak.
The fifth India-Australia Test will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground from Friday, January 3. Kohli has good memories of the ground, scoring 316 runs at an average of 52.66.
