In a recent interview, veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar expressed his admiration for Virat Kohli. From budding sportsmen to the general public to celebrities, the former India captain enjoys a huge fan following across generations. With over 270 million followers on Instagram alone, he is the most followed cricketer on social media.

Nana Patekar shared how he refrains from eating whenever the star batter fails to deliver with the bat. The 74-year-old told TV9 Hindi News on YouTube:

“In the midst of the interview, we are used to watching the score. He [Virat Kohli] scored a century yesterday that is not in my mind today, you [he] were supposed to hit it [owing to his consistency]. What will you do today?"
“Virat is my favorite player. If he gets out early, you don’t know, I don’t like to eat [food]. I am that much interested in cricket. Our exams are same, their game [cricketers] ends in five days, ours [Bollywood actors] lasts up to 1.5-2 years, whose result public decides,” he added.

“Virat looks better than many actors” – When Ranbir Kapoor lauded Virat Kohli

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor once lauded Virat Kohli while asking him to do his own biopic. The 42-year-old told Star Sports in 2023 (via Hindustan Times):

“If a biopic is made on Virat Kohli, then Kohli should play the role of Kohli in it because Virat looks better than many actors and his fitness is also very good.”

On the professional front, Kohli is playing against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Down Under. Following his century in Perth, the right-handed batter has failed to deliver with the bat, returning with below-par scores of 7, 11, 3, 36, 5, 17 (Friday, January 3).

Amid this, Ravi Shastri has backed the 36-year-old to play for the next three to four years. The 62-year-old told Star Sports (via NDTV):

“I think Virat will play for some time. Forget the way he got out, or whatever. I think he'll play for another three or four years.”
