Sarfaraz Khan smashed five consecutive boundaries off right-arm fast-medium bowler Akash Deep's over on Day 3 of the ongoing 2024 Duleep Trophy fixture between India A and India B at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, September 7. The took place in the tenth over of India B's second innings which was bowled by the 27-year-old India A pacer.
While the first delivery turned out to be a dot ball, Sarfaraz scored five consecutive fours in the next five balls to register 20 crucial runs in that over. Unfortunately, the prolific batter was dismissed for just nine runs off 35 balls in the first innings.

Teenager Musheer Khan stars with the bat on his Duleep Trophy debut
Earlier, India A skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first. Put in to bat, Abhimanyu Easwaran's men were reeling at 94-7 at one stage. From there, a record 205-run eight-wicket partnership between Musheer Khan and Navdeep Saini ensured they posted 321 runs in their first innings.
Musheer, who was making his Duleep Trophy debut, impressed everyone with his vital knock, having amassed 181 runs off 373 balls, including 16 fours and five sixes. The teenager was supported well by Navdeep Saini with the speedster scoring 56 runs off 144 balls - his highest first-class cricket score so far.
In response, the Shubman Gill-led side managed 231 runs before getting bowled out in 72.4 overs. Local boy KL Rahul top scored for India A in their first innings with his 111-ball 37-run knock. Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini were the pick of the bowlers for India B as they both took three wickets each.
With a first-innings lead of 90 runs, India B are currently fighting it out in the middle to set up a challenging total for India A. Meanwhile, India C defeated India D by four wickets in the other 2024 Duleep Trophy game in Anantapur on Saturday.
