"Some people doubted me" - India's Nitish Kumar Reddy after his maiden Test ton
Nitish Kumar Reddy has been making rapid strides in Test cricket and he showed his class with his splendid century in Melbourne. Speaking after his ton, the youngster highlighted that he had a few doubters who didn't think he would be able to do well in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Emphasizing that he was keen to silence his naysayers, Reddy said during a media interaction after Day 4 of the ongoing Test (quoted as saying by ANI):
"Some people doubted me, like a youngster who played IPL, can't perform in such a big series. I know a lot of people did talk like that. I just want to make them feel wrong about what they have said about me and that's what I am doing, I want people to know that I am here to give my 100 percent for Indian team."
"I guess for you guys, it is like one or two months. For me, it's like, I can see my past two to three years. How hard I've been working on my batting and bowling," he added.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is reportedly set to receive a ₹25 lakh cash prize from the Andhra Cricket Association for his performances on the Australia tour.
