Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal stood up to Australian ace pacer Mitchell Starc on Day 2 of the first Test in Perth on Saturday, November 23. Jaiswal sledged Starc by asking him to bowl faster after getting a promising start in the second innings. The southpaw was dismissed by Starc for a duck in the first essay.

Jaiswal's fiery reaction came when Starc was bowling at 140kmph. Notably, the Australian pacer had exchanged a few words with Indian pacer Harshit Rana earlier in the innings. Notably, the left-arm pacer had dismissed him in the first innings for a duck.

Yashasvi Jaiswal told Mitchell Starc:

“It’s coming too slow.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal made a brilliant start to his innings, keeping his eyes on the ball before unleashing his aggressive game. He then slammed a boundary off Starc towards deep square leg before playing an upper cut off Josh Hazlewood.

Jaiswal remains crucial to India’s fate in the five-match Test series. The left-handed batter is the second-highest run-getter in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
