Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah wrapped up Australia's second innings of the ongoing fourth Test by casting Nathan Lyon's middle stump early on Day 5 (Monday, December 30) in Melbourne. The Men in Yellow ended up with 234 runs, handing India a target of 340 runs to take a series lead and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

Lyon and Scott Boland evaded the Indian bowlers' charge in the final session of Day 4, playing out over 100 deliveries together and frustrating the visitors. However, the pair had no chance against a fresh Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer was on a four-fer after getting the better of Sam Konstas and inflicting a major middle order collapse.

Australia managed to add six runs to their overnight score after Boland recorded a boundary off Mohammed Siraj in the first over of the day, followed by a couple of singles. Bumrah charged in from the other end and castled Lyon with an incoming delivery.

The tail-ender left a huge gap between the bat and the pad while driving, as the ball breached through comfortably. Bumrah stood rooted to the spot and issued a glare to Lyon as he completed his five-wicket haul. Have a look at the dismissal right here:

The spearhead finished with figures of 5-57, his third five-wicket haul of the series. India have 92 overs to either go for the total or survive, both results bearing huge implications in the final result of the series, as well as the World Test Championship (WTC) standings.

Bumrah had dismissed Nathan Lyon on Day 4 of 4th BGT Test, but had overstepped

Jasprit Bumrah had got the better of Lyon in the final over on Day 4 after the latter edged one to KL Rahul in the slip cordon. However, instead of the hosts' innings coming to an end with the pacer's fifer and Lyon walking off, the on-field umpire signaled a no-ball.

The last-wicket partnership resulted in 61 runs, making a huge difference for Australia, who were tottering at one stage. Scott Boland remained unbeaten on 15 runs off 74 deliveries.

India have begun their run chase on a cautious note, recording a couple of runs from the first two overs of the final innings on Day 5.
