Jayden Seales ended Kyle Verreynne's resistance for 59 on Day 3 of the second Test between West Indies and South Africa at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Saturday, August 17. Seales claimed 6-61 in 18.4 overs in South Africa's second innings as the Proteas were bowled out for 246 in 80.4 overs.

South Africa resumed their second innings on Day 3 of the Test match at 223-5, with Verreynne batting on 50 and Wiaan Mulder on 34. Mulder was trapped lbw by Jomel Warrican for his overnight score in the first over of the innings. Seales then dismissed Keshav Maharaj for a duck. The Proteas tailender looked to clip a length delivery but ended up chipping a catch to short midwicket.

Seales completed a memorable five-wicket haul, only the second of his Test career, by cleaning up Verreynne. The 22-year-old bowled one from wide of the crease and slanted in a fullish delivery, inviting the drive from the well-set South African batter. Verreynne accepted the challenge and went for a drive on the on side. The right-hander, however, was completely beaten and got clean bowled.

Keeper-batter Verreynne's knock of 59 lasted 78 balls and 116 minutes in which he hit eight fours. Following his dismissal, Kagiso Rabada (6) was smartly caught at slip by Kavem Hodge off Warrican's bowling. Seales ended South Africa's innings by taking a good return catch to dismiss Nandre Burger for a duck.

West Indies lose Mikyle Louis in chase of 263 after Seales' 6-fer

Seales' heroics in the first session of Day 3 in Guyana meant West Indies were set a target of 263 to win the second Test. They lost Mikyle Louis for 4 to Rabada in the fifth over of the chase. Rabada got a length ball outside off to straightens a bit and found the edge that was pouched at third slip. The hosts went to lunch at 43-1, with skipper Kraigg Brathwaite batting on 17 and Keacy Carty on 15.

Earlier, West Indies did a great job to bowl out South Africa for 160 in the first innings after the Proteas opted to bat first. Shamar Joseph starred with 5-33, while Seales claimed 3-45. South Africa, however, hit back by cleaning up the Windies for 144. Mulder claimed 4-32 and Burger 3-49. The first Test of the two-match series in Trinidad ended in a draw.
