Former India player Harbhajan Singh had a funny moment with star batter Virat Kohli during Day 1 of the third Test against Australia in Brisbane on Saturday, December 14. The cricketer-turned-commentator shared how Kohli was mesmerized by his outfit and danced to the tune of popular Bollywood actor Jeetender. Notably, Jeetender used to wear full white suits in his movies from the 1960s to the 1980s.

In a video shared by Star Sports, Harbhajan revealed the funny banter between him and Kohli on the field. He said:

“Aaj kya hua maine ye white (pant) aur light pink pehna (shirt) aur jacket pehna bahot achi hai. Aur pink karke ek line hai usme but door se dekho na to aisa lagta hai – wo kehta hai jeetender ithe aa gya. To door se usne suru kar diya, naino me sapna (steps), maine kaha pata nahi kya dikha raha hai door se. Phir use ruka nahi nahi gaya phir pass aa gaya. Pass aake gana gake step laga ke dikhaye. Maine galti kar di, maine baad me jab aapne aap ko screen pe dekha to wo kilo wale boot reh gaye they bas, pehan leta wo chamde wale to phir Jeetu ji yaad hai."

Translated version:

"What happened today, I wore white (pants) and light pink (shirt) and a jacket, which has a pink line but it's not clearly visible from afar. Kohli said, 'Jeetender has come.' He started dancing and singing the song, 'Naino me sapna.' He didn't stop, he came near me and continued doing the steps. Did I make a mistake? Later, when I saw myself on the screen, I realized I was only missing leather boots."

"You will shame yourself if you don't score 10,000 runs" - When Harbhajan Singh motivated young Virat Kohli

In a recent interview, Harbhajan Singh revealed how he motivated a self-doubting young Virat Kohli during his early days in international cricket. He told Taruwar Kohli in a podcast (via The Times of India):

"If I tell you something about his Test cricket, at the very beginning. We were in the West Indies. On that tour, Fidel Edwards (former West Indies quick) had troubled him a lot, getting him out either LBW or against the short ball. He was getting out time and again, so obviously he was very disappointed."
"He had self-doubt, questioned 'If I am good enough?' I told him 'You will shame yourself if you don't score 10,000 runs. You have the capability of scoring 10,000 runs in Test cricket. And if you don't, it'll be because of your own fault.' After that, what Kohli has done is a once-in-a-lifetime exception," he added.

Kohli has over 27,000 runs in international cricket, including more than 9,000 in Tests.
