New Zealand batter Kane Williamson brought up his 33rd Test century in style by smashing a straight six off England's left-arm orthodox bowler Jacob Bethell on Day 3 of the ongoing third Test match between the two nations at Hamilton's Seddon Park on Monday, December 16. The incident happened in the first ball of the 58th over when Williamson came down the track and hammered the cherry straight back down the ground.
It was the 34-year-old's 20th Test hundred in New Zealand and his seventh at the Seddon Park. With this, he has now equaled the tally of Australian batter Steven Smith who amassed his 33rd Test ton on Sunday, December 15, against India at the Gabba in Brisbane during the ongoing third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test match.
Williamson came close to the three-figure mark in the series opener against England in Christchurch but was dismissed for 93 runs in the first innings.

Kane Williamson's hundred puts New Zealand in a commanding position
England's tour of New Zealand began last month with a two-day warm-up match in Queenstown which ended in a draw. The two teams faced off each other in the first Test match at Christchurch's Hagley Oval, which the visitors won by eight wickets to go 1-0 up in the series. Ben Stokes' men extended their dominance over New Zealand by winning the second game at the Basin Reserve in Wellington by a massive margin of 323 runs.
Having already lost the three-match series, the hosts are in a position to salvage their pride in the third and final Test. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson's century has given them a commanding second-innings lead with two more days of play remaining in the fixture. At Tea on day three, New Zealand are at 274-4 leading England by 478 runs with Williamson and Daryl Mitchell at the crease.
