Star India batter KL Rahul faced an injury scare ahead of the fourth Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test in Melbourne. The fourth Test is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 26.
While batting in the nets, Rahul was hit on the fingers and could sustain a potential injury. However, it is not yet confirmed whether this is a serious injury or not. The Indian team management will be hopeful that Rahul is fit and that this is not a major injury scare ahead of the all-important Melbourne Test.

KL Rahul does not appear to be in severe discomfort while being treated by the physio. The injury also does not seem to be as concerning from the visuals surfacing on the internet.
KL Rahul has been India's top batter in the ongoing BGT 2024-25 series
While his finger injury may not be severe, India will hope that he is fit ahead of the fourth Test in Melbourne. KL Rahul, after facing harsh criticism during the home Test series against New Zealand, has bounced back strongly in Australia, being the team's most successful batter so far.
He has scored 235 runs from six innings and three Tests so far at an average of 47 with two half-centuries as well. The right-hander is also the second-highest run-getter overall in the series, only behind Travis Head, who sits at the top with 409 runs.
Rahul has displayed determination, grit, and dedication in his batting, scoring runs in difficult situations while the rest of the Indian batters have failed to perform consistently. Even in the third Test at The Gabba that was drawn, he played a key role with the bat, scoring a 139-ball 84 in the first innings for India.
