Melbourne Renegades skipper and all-rounder Will Sutherland pulled off a spectacular one-handed catch to dismiss Sydney Thunder wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings during the 2024-25 BBL clash between the two sides at the Sydney Showground Stadium on Monday, December 30. The incident happened on the second ball of the 14th over bowled by the Renegades pacer Kane Richardson.

Batting on 10, Billings was looking to smash the low full toss delivery over mid-on only to get dismissed by a Will Sutherland screamer. His 10-ball knock comprised a solitary boundary.

Here's the video:

The Englishman, who began this season's Big Bash League with scores of 29 (against Adelaide Strikers) and 15* (against Sydney Sixers), was adjudged the Player of the Match in his team's 18-run victory over the Melbourne Stars at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.

The 33-year-old amassed 72 runs off just 39 balls, including nine fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 184.62 during that knock. While the Thunder won by two wickets against Adelaide, they lost the second fixture against the Sixers by five wickets.

Melbourne Renegades are currently placed third in the BBL 2024-25 points table

The Melbourne Renegades are currently placed third among eight teams in the 2024-25 BBL points table with four points and a net run rate of +0.984 after four matches.
