Marnus Labuschagne was finally dismissed after being dropped on 46 as Mohammed Siraj took the prized scalp on Day 4 of the fourth Test in Melbourne on Sunday, December 29. Siraj trapped Labuschagne LBW after the latter punished Indian pacers, scoring a valuable 70 runs to help Australia propel their target past 200. The wicket also ended the 56-run seventh-wicket partnership between Labuschagne and Pat Cummins.
The dismissal came in the 56th over of Australia’s second innings. Siraj bowled a length ball that nipped back sharply and Labuschagne was caught on the crease. The ball hit the pad on the back leg and the on-field umpire adjudged it out.
Labuschagne took a review but the replays showed the ball would’ve crashed on top of the middle stump. Siraj then mimicked Australian debutant Sam Konstas' celebration while waiving towards the MCG crowd.
Notably, Konstas got the crowd involved on several occasions while fielding near the boundary skirtings on Day 2 following his quickfire 60, where he dominated Jasprit Bumrah and Siraj in the first essay.
