Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj brought Travis Head's free-flowing hundred to an end with a brilliant yorker on Day 2 of the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. The left-handed batter departed after posting a game-changing 140 off just 141 deliveries in the first innings.

In the 82nd over of the innings, Head took on Siraj for a four and a six off the first three deliveries. The pacer responded with a brilliant yorker, which the batter failed to deal with. The stumps were rattled after he failed to bring down his bat in time, triggering wild celebrations from Siraj.

The bowler launched a verbal assault right after the dismissal on his follow-through, coupled with some hand gestures, signaling him to get out of the crease. The charade triggered Head as well, who responded with a few words of his own, before making his way back to the pavilion.

The 30-year-old was also involved in an altercation with Marnus Labuschagne on Day 1. He threw the ball towards the right-handed batter right after he pulled out of his stance due to disturbance by the sightscreen.

Australia comfortably placed at 332-8 after Travis Head's assault

The crowd came to life after Siraj's theatrics and made their voice heard with boos ringing around the venue whenever the bowler was near the ball. The umpires were seen having a discussion with him as well. The player has a history with the Australian crowd, being on the receiving end of racial abuse during the previous tour in 2020-21.

Team India made the new ball count with two late scalps as Cummins departed soon after Travis Head to bring the session to a close. Australia are placed at 332-8, with the lead reading 152 runs.

Siraj had to toil hard on Day 2 and assist Bumrah to lead India's charge with the ball. His current figures read 2-95 after bowling 23 overs in the innings.
