West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran smashed one of the longest sixes with a mammoth 113-meter maximum in The Hundred on Sunday, August 10. Old Trafford hosted the game between Northern Superchargers and Manchester Originals.
The shot came off the 74th ball of Northern Superchargers’ run chase. Scott Currie bowled a full-length ball on leg-stump, and Pooran flicked it with power and elegance as the ball crossed the railings at deep mid-wicket stands to go out of the ground. The monstrous six left the fans in awe.

Pooran slammed an unbeaten 66 runs off 33 balls at a stunning strike rate of 200 with the help of eight sixes and two boundaries.

A clinical batting display from Nicholas Pooran, captain Harry Brook, and Adam Hose helped Northern Superchargers beat Manchester Originals by seven wickets in The Hundred on Sunday. Brook scored 43 runs off 26 deliveries, a knock laced with two sixes and four boundaries. Hose also chipped in with an unbeaten 27 off 14, comprising two sixes and one boundary. The duo shared fifty partnerships with Pooran.
Fazalhaq Farooqi, Usman Mir, and Scott Currie bagged one wicket apiece for Manchester Originals.
Batting first, Manchester put up 152/7 in 100 balls. Captain Phil Salt led from the front, scoring 61 off 28, hitting four sixes and five boundaries. Jamie Overton, Thomas Aspinwall, and Matthew Hurst chipped in with run-a-ball 21 not out, 18* (12) and 17 (8), respectively. Max Holden (13 off 11) was the other batter to reach double digits.
Mitchell Santner starred with the ball for Northern Superchargers, returning with figures of 3/24, while Patrick Brown, Adil Rashid, and Matthew Potts scalped one wicket each.
With the win, the Superchargers are now third in the points table with four wins in seven matches. On the contrary, the Manchester-based franchise has been eliminated from the race to playoffs after a solitary win in seven games so far.
