Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy brought out the famous 'Pushpa' celebration after getting to his first half-century in Test cricket on Day 3 of the Border Gavaskar Trophy fourth Test. The batter brought up the landmark in 81 balls.
Walking out to bat at number eight, Nitish Kumar Reddy had a sedate start and looked to get himself set at the wicket. He batted through the bouncer barrage on a show for him before he got to playing his shots. Formerly in this series, Nitish had registered scores of 41, 38, 42, 42, and 16 to his name.
On the third ball of the 83rd over, Nitish scored a boundary off Mitchell Starc and got to his half-century in style, achieving the feat in 81 balls. Later, he celebrated it uniquely as he mimicked the 'Thaggede le' celebration from the movie Pushpa 2 which is performed throughout the movie by Telugu actor Allu Arjun.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar are currently batting in the middle for Team India. The duo have put together 73 runs for the eighth wicket, at the time of writing, and have batted through, ensuring they avoid follow-on and also reduce their deficit, keeping it as low as possible.
Nitish became the second batter to score a half-century after Yashasvi Jaiswal (82 off 118), who got past the 50-run mark earlier in this innings before being run out. The batter will be looking to go long and possibly even get to his century.
At the moment, Team India are on 299/7 after 91 overs. They trail by 175 runs and need to win this Test to keep their chances of a third WTC finals appearance afloat.
