Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has opened up about how it feels to keep wickets to pacer Jasprit Bumrah's bowling. Pant was seen having a candid conversation with former Australian cricketer Justin Langer before the start of the second day's play of the ongoing fifth Border Gavaskar Trophy Test match in Sydney on Saturday, January 4.

When Langer asked what it means to wicket keep to Bumrah, Pant expressed his views by pointing out the difficulties and the reasons behind them. The southpaw was quoted as saying (via 7Cricket),

"Oh, man! It is pretty difficult because of the kind of angles he creates, sometimes you have to move to one side a bit quicker and when the edges come on the other side, you just have to manage. It is quite difficult but part of the job I would say."

Here's the video of Pant's reaction to Langer's question:

Meanwhile, captaining Team India at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the final Test match of the series in Rohit Sharma's absence, Jasprit Bumrah opted to bat first upon winning the toss. With the batters failing to step up to the occasion again, the visitors could only manage to put 185 runs on the board in their first innings before getting bowled out in 72.2 overs.

Rishabh Pant top-scored for the team, having amassed 40 runs off 98 balls including three fours and a six. Skipper Bumrah also contributed vital runs towards the end of the innings scoring 22 runs off just 17 deliveries comprising three fours and a six.

A memorable 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy for Jasprit Bumrah

Personally, the 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy has been a memorable series for Jasprit Bumrah who led the Indian Cricket team to a massive 295-run victory in the opening game at Perth. With 32 wickets to his name so far, he is on top of the bowling charts as well.

His Australian counterpart Pat Cummins is at a distant second place with 22 scalps. 31-year-old Bumrah created history yet again on Day 2 of the Sydney Test when he dismissed Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne to take his tally to 32 wickets in the series. He thereby broke Bishan Singh Bedi's 47-year-old record (31 wickets in 1977-78) for the most wickets for India in a Test series in Australia.
