Team India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav celebrated Ganeshotsav 2024 with his family at his Mumbai residence. The cricket star welcomed two Ganpati Bappa idols at his home during the festival.

Taking to his official Instagram account on Thursday, September 12, Suryakumar shared a video, giving fans a glimpse of his celebrations. In the clip, the swashbuckling batter can be seen performing 'Aarti' with his wife Devisha Shetty.

Suryakumar performed the Ganpati Visarjan, bidding farewell to Lord Ganesh. Sharing the video, he wrote:

"पुढच्या वर्षी लवकर या (return soon next year)"

On the cricketing front, Suryakumar injured his hand while fielding in Mumbai's Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament 2024 match in Coimbatore. He subsequently missed the first two rounds of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 due to the injury.

"The Mumbai Indians won't leave Suryakumar Yadav" - Aakash Chopra

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that Mumbai Indians (MI) won't part ways with Suryakumar Yadav ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction.

Chopra mentioned that the five-time champions are unlikely to trade the 33-year-old. On being asked if MI were going to trade Suryakumar, here's what Chopra said on his YouTube channel:

"What are you asking? I don't think Suryakumar Yadav will be traded. I haven't heard anything like that. The Mumbai Indians won't leave Suryakumar Yadav and I feel Surya also won't leave either. Surya will be there. He is not going anywhere. Na, I don't think so. Surya will remain with the team. I don't know where you have read that."

It is worth mentioning that Suryakumar was appointed as India's T20I captain after Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is following the 2024 T20 World Cup. His stint began with a stunning 3-0 whitewash over Sri Lanka in July.

It remains to be seen if Suryakumar will be able to recover from his injury ahead of the Men in Blue's upcoming three-match home T20I series against Bangladesh. The first T20I is set to be played at New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on October 6.
