Team India stand-in skipper Virat Kohli was a charged-up figure after Prasidh Krishna dismissed Marnus Labuschagne on Day 3 of the fifth Border-Gavaskar series Test in Sydney. The Men in Blue desperately needed breakthroughs after Australia made a flying start to their final innings while attempting to chase down 162 for a series-clinching win.
Labuschagne struggled at the crease after coming in to bat at No.3 following Sam Konstas' dismissal. The right-handed batter was hit on the elbow and survived a few close calls before his unconvincing stay came to an end.
The right-handed batter attempted to guide and cut a length delivery by Prasidh Krishna. While there was plenty of room to play the stroke given how wide the delivery was, Labuschagne failed to execute and steer it into the gap.

Kohli led the celebrations as Australia lost their second wicket in a tricky run chase. India were completely on the backfoot after conceding 35 runs off the first three overs, without Jasprit Bumrah's services.
The stand-in captain urged the crowd to be more vocal, with the majority of the SCG capacity leaning towards the Indian side, and offering their support with chants, waving flags, and cheers.
Steve Smith departs soon after Marnus Labuschagne as Kohli leads the troops
Marnus Labuschagne's mediocre series came to a predictable anti-climactic end. There was pressure on the batter after a double failure in Perth. While he managed to silence the critics with a defiant show in Adelaide, and twin fifties in Melbourne, he faltered again in Sydney to bring the scrutiny back.
He finishes the Border-Gavaskar series with 232 runs in nine innings. Before the second innings, his average was 28.25, which will take a hit after yet another poor outing.
After dismissing Marnus Labuschagne, pacer Prasidh Krishna struck once again to claim the crucial wicket of Steve Smith. As of writing, Australia are placed at 71-3 at Lunch on Day 3, with 91 runs still required for the win.
