New Zealand opener Devon Conway was dismissed by Team India's lead spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Day 1 (today, October 24) of the second Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Conway carried on his good touch from the first Test in Bengaluru where he scored 91 & 17. He started strong and had a couple of boundaries to his name, scoring his second half-century on the tour post-lunch. He didn't stop at that and continued scoring boundaries as he raced to 76 in the second session.

R Ashwin came on to bowl the 44th over and Conway's partner at the moment, Rachin Ravindra, picked up a single to turn the strike over. On the second ball, Conway looked to push the ball away towards the covers but got a thin edge that was caught behind by Rishabh Pant. Conway decided against reviewing the call by the umpire and walked back to the dressing room.

Take a look at the dismissal below:

Conway was dismissed on 76 off 141 balls and became the third wicket to fall on Day 1. All three wickets have been picked up by Ashwin. Conway's dismissal had the visitors on 138/3. Daryl Mitchell replaced him in the middle.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, New Zealand have managed to score runs on this track in Pune quite easily. However, they have also lost wickets at regular intervals which has pushed them back a bit. Tom Latham (15 off 22) was the first one to fall this morning, followed by Will Young (18 off 45).

India have picked up only three wickets so far, with Conway's (76 off 141) wicket being their first one after Lunch. At the moment, New Zealand are at 156/3 after 49 overs. The visitors hold a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series after a historic win in Bengaluru.
