All-rounder R Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket after the end of the third Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test between Australia and India at the Gabba in Brisbane on Wednesday (December 18).
The Indian cricket team, on Instagram, shared a heartwarming video where Ashwin, along with a few teammates, can be seen sharing some light moments with the support staff.
Ashwin invited members of the support staff to bowl in an indoor net session. Various members rolled their arm over, with the off-spinner giving them some tips such as "bowl from the corner" and "finish the action."
Ashwin led the fun-filled session where both players and support staff members were seen enjoying themselves with constant laughter and cheering.

R Ashwin lands in Chennai after announcing retirement from international cricket
After announcing his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday (December 18), which came as a surprise to many, R Ashwin decided not to stay back in Australia with the Indian team for the remaining two Tests of the ongoing BGT 2024-25 series.
The 38-year-old left for India and landed in Chennai, his home city, less than 24 hours after having announced his retirement. He received a warm welcome at the airport from his family and friends who were present for his arrival.
Ashwin ended his Test career with 537 wickets, only behind Anil Kumble (619) on the list of bowlers with the most Test wickets for India. Overall, he picked up 765 wickets across all formats and amassed 4,394 runs with the bat.
