India captain Rohit Sharma was caught behind by wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis off Dunith Wellalage in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, August 7. Rohit walked back after another brilliant start in the series, scoring a quickfire 35 runs off 20 balls, laced with one maximum and six boundaries.

The dismissal came in the eighth over of Team India’s run chase. Dunith Wellalage bowled a full-length ball that spun away from the right-hander. Rohit went low for a slog sweep but only managed an outside edge. Mendis showed great reflexes to hold onto the catch after the ball hit the edge of his fingers.
