[Watch] Sanju Samson pumped up after smashing the winning runs during LSG vs RR IPL 2024 match

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson isn't someone who believes in showing a lot of emotion on the field. However, the skipper didn't hold back after hitting the winning runs for the Royals against the Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2024 clash on Saturday, April 27.

Samson shuffled inside the line of the ball and flicked it over fine leg for a six that sealed the game in RR's favor. The Rajasthan captain was keen to remain unbeaten and take his team over the line. Once he did that, he roared in delight and received a warm hug from Dhruv Jurel.

While there was joy in Samson's expression, KL Rahul had a disappointed look, and understandably so, as LSG had their moments in the game. The video also showed the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and others pumped up in the RR dugout.

Sanju Samson's blazing knock of 71* off 33 also had some moments initially where he had to build a partnership first with Riyan Parag and then with Dhruv Jurel.

The RR captain adjusted to the conditions very well and believes one of the main reasons for the same was the fact that he kept wickets. Samson said about that in the post-match presentation:

"To be honest I am very lucky to be behind the wickets throughout the game. When we were bowling with the new ball, I knew there was some purchase in the wicket when they bowled Test-match lengths and once the ball got old it was a very good wicket to bat on."

Samson scored his fourth half-century of IPL 2024. This consistency may have well sealed his place as a wicketkeeper in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad, which is likely to be announced in the coming days.
