Rest of India (ROI) bowler Saransh Jain dismissed Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan LBW to secure his five-wicket haul on Day 5 of the 2024 Irani Cup match on Saturday, October 5. The game is being played at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The dismissal took place on the third ball of the 44th over. Saransh bowled a full turning off-break, and Sarfaraz went back to defend it but missed the line of the ball as it hit his pads.
The umpire didn’t raise his finger, but ROI challenged the decision. Ball-tracking showed three reds, confirming Saransh’s five-wicket haul with the important wicket of Sarfaraz.
Here’s a video of the dismissal:
Mumbai cricketer Sarfaraz scored a remarkable 222 not out in the first innings but had a disappointing performance in the second. The 26-year-old managed only 17 runs off 36 balls, and his wicket left Mumbai at 167/7 after 43.3 overs.
