Former Team India head coach Rahul Dravid reminisced his old days at Chepauk (now MA Chidambaram Stadium) while attending the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) final. The match took place between Dindigul Dragons and Lyca Kovai Kings on Sunday, August 4.

Dravid revealed that he played a lot of cricket at Chepauk, especially during his early days. Calling it special, the former India captain also remembered he scored a century against South Africa to complete his 10,000 runs in Tests.

Notably, the legendary batter has over 10,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs. He scored over 24,000 runs in his international career.

Dravid said on Star Sports:

“Yeah, I think some of my best memories are actually playing league cricket here, playing league cricket in the old days, growing up here and the stadium used to look very different then. All concrete stands, it’s beautiful to see how it’s changed now but it was lovely to play some league cricket here."
“Of course, I’ve played a lot of international cricket here and it’s always great to play in front of this crowd because it was one of the most supportive and appreciative crowds in the country, really knew their cricket and love their cricket.
"So, [I] love playing at Chepauk, love playing at this ground. [I] Scored my 10,000 runs at this ground, so that’s was a really nice, special moment,” he added.
