Australia pacer Scott Boland registered the first ten-wicket haul of his Test career after dismissing Jasprit Bumrah on Day 3 of the fifth Border-Gavaskar series Test in Sydney. The right-arm pacer concluded Team India's second innings by casting the opposition skipper, and finishing with figures of 6-45, after having picked up four wickets, the first time around.

Boland has been a huge issue for India to deal with over the course of the entire series. Instead of having some room to breathe after probing spells by Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, the visitors have had to deal with an even more intense phase against the veteran seamer.

Stranded on eight wickets at the end of Day 2, Boland dismissed both Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah in the space of three deliveries to end India's second innings at 157.

Boland first completed his five-wicket haul for the second innings after he got Siraj to edge one to Usman Khawaja in the slips. Later, he castled Bumrah, who was looking for a huge heave to add runs to India's tally, to finish things off.

Have a look at the dismissals right here:

The veteran pacer got the ball to move around off the surface extensively, often leaving the batters helpless. The assistance from the surface, coupled with Boland's impeccable control over his bowling areas, resulted in the perfect lethal combination.

Boland finishes with 21 wickets in the series in just three matches

Beginning the campaign as a bench player, Boland came into the picture during the pink ball Test at the Adelaide Oval after an injury to Josh Hazlewood. After missing out the drawn affair at The Gabba, he returned to the playing XI as Hazlewood was ruled out of the series.

Apart from dismissing Kohli four times in the series, Boland has been a huge thorn in India's side, and even more so than usual in Sydney. The pacer made the most of the green top as the Indian batters were dealt with something near-unplayable for the majority of the contest.
