Tanush Kotian was robbed of a wicket as Marcus Harris was given not out by the on-field umpire on Day 2 of the second unofficial Test between India and Australia in Melbourne on Friday, November 8. While the Indian players started celebrating, the umpire and batter remained unmoved in what looked like a clear out caught dismissal at slip.

The incident took place in the 43rd over of Australia A’s first innings. Kotian bowled a tossed-up delivery down the leg side that produced an edge onto the body and then to first slip. While it looked like a bit of edge from the bat, the umpire wasn’t convinced.

The controversial decision came following a ball-tampering saga in the opening game. Notably, there is no Decision Review System (DRS) in practice matches.
