Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has commenced his preparations for the upcoming home Test series against New Zealand. He was last seen in action during the two-match series against Bangladesh earlier this month, where India whitewashed their opponents.

Despite winning comprehensively, Rohit did not have a good time with the bat. He scored only 42 runs across four innings in the two Test matches against the Bangla Tigers.

His form with the bat in the top order is crucial for India this season, with challenging series against teams like New Zealand and Australia coming up. Rohit Sharma is preparing intensely for it in the nets to fine-tune his batting. He gave a glimpse of it by sharing a reel on his official Instagram handle.

New Zealand's tour of India will commence on October 16, with the first Test scheduled to be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

"He created an impact but Rohit the opener didn't convert any of his innings" - Ajay Jadeja on Rohit Sharma's batting performances in Bangladesh Test series

Former cricketer Ajay Jadeja recently analyzed Indian captain Rohit Sharma's batting performances in the Test series against Bangladesh. He felt that Rohit created an impact with cameos but failed to score big like he did many times in the past.

During a discussion on Colors Cineplex on the matter, Jadeja said:

"Rohit the batter that we are used to, who we have been seeing for so many years, he is among those who have scored double-centuries, both in ODIs and Tests. There is no doubt that he is a leader in the template we talk about, the three sixes he hit, and then how the innings went. However, I personally consider Rohit Sharma the batter much bigger than this, but those big knocks don't come daily."

Jadeja continued:

"If we see this series, there is no doubt that he created an impact but Rohit the opener didn't convert any of his innings. So Rohit as a batter would be personally disappointed. I hope he is (disappointed) because as a fan you get disappointed when you don't get to see a single 50, 100, 150 or 200 from Rohit Sharma, because this is neither T20 nor ODI. In fact, he scores 200 even in ODIs
