Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting star Virat Kohli expressed his displeasure from the dressing room at skipper Faf du Plessis' dismissal in the ongoing IPL 2024 clash. The incident occurred against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. In a video that surfaced on social media, the 35-year-old was seen raising his hands at the decision.

The dismissal occurred in the 13th over of the innings sent down by Mitchell Santner. Rajat Patidar drove back to the bowler and Santner managed to get a fingertip before the ball hit the stumps. The on-field umpire referred the decision to the third umpire. The decision from upstairs came that the bat was up in the air when the ball hit the stumps, forcing Du Plessis to walk back.

The veteran right-hander brought up his half-century off only 35 deliveries in the 12th over of the innings with a single before getting out.

Meanwhile, Kohli was the first Royal Challengers batter on the night to lose his wicket as Santner was once again in the scheme of things. The former captain holed out to long-on as Daryl Mitchell clung on to the catch to have Kohli for 47 off 28 deliveries. The wicket broke the opening stand of 78 with Du Plessis.

The Royal Challengers came into the match, having won five consecutive games after emerging victorious in only one out of the opening seven matches. Chennai Super Kings, meanwhile, have one step in the playoffs and came off a resounding win over the Rajasthan Royals. Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and SunRisers Hyderabad have already qualified for the playoffs.

The Super Kings have already beaten the Royal Challengers once in the tournament during its opening game. However, the ongoing contest looms as a decisive one for both sides. A win by a margin of over 18 runs will see Bengaluru qualify while any other result will take Chennai to the playoff.
