Team India's ace batter Virat Kohli was caught behind yet again, this time off the bowling of Scott Boland on Day 2 (Friday, December 27) of the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Test between Australia and India. The match is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia.

Kohli walked out to bat after the Tea break and looked in good shape, leaving deliveries outside the off stump and shouldering the balls that were too close to play. He played a few cover drives and cuts, which also pleased the fans at the venue.

Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched a 102-run partnership before a mix-up in the middle resulted in Jaiswal losing his wicket. Soon after, in the 43rd over, Kohli chased a wide delivery bowled by Scott Boland and edged it to wicketkeeper Alex Carey, who held onto it nicely.

Virat Kohli played a total of 88 deliveries and scored 36 runs, which included four boundaries. He was the fourth wicket to fall for the visitors, bringing wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant to the middle.

Team India are in the hunt to knock off their innings deficit of 474 but have been obstructed at timely intervals due to the loss of wickets. The visitors lost the wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma (three runs off five balls) early in their first innings before KL Rahul (24 off 43) was dismissed at the stroke of Tea by Australia skipper Pat Cummins.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (82 off 118) and Virat Kohli stitched together a 102-run partnership that was broken due to a horrible mixup. Towards the end of the day, India lost three wickets, as they slipped from 153/2 to 164/5 at Stumps.
