Virat Kohli took a stunning leaping catch to send Marnus Labuschagne packing on Day 1 (Thursday, December 26) of the fourth Border-Gavaskar series 2024-25 Test between India and Australia in Melbourne. With the grab, Kohli broke the 83-run partnership between Labuschagne and Steve Smith. Labuschagne walked back for 72 off 145 balls with the aid of seven boundaries.

The dismissal came in the 66th over of Australia's first innings. Washington Sundar bowled a slower delivery outside off and dragged the length back than the previous one. Labuschagne used his feet in an attempt to clear mid-off but was caught by Kohli, who timed his jump to perfection. This was a neat catch by Kohli over his head.

Watch the video below:

This was Labuschagne's second half-century in the five-match series, having scored 64 in Adelaide, where Australia beat India by 10 wickets. Meanwhile, Sundar picked up his first wicket of the match and third in the series after being ignored in the second and third Tests Down Under.

India strike twice as Travis Head follows Marnus Labuschagne in 4th BGT 2024-25 Test

India struck twice in consecutive overs as Jasprit Bumrah cleaned up in-form Travis Head in the 67th over.

At the time of writing, the Aussies were 241/4, with Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh at the crease. Bumrah has been the pick of the bowlers with two scalps so far.

Earlier in the day, Sam Konstas impressed on his Test debut, scoring 60 runs off 65 deliveries. The highlight of the day was his 34 runs off 33 balls against Bumrah, including two sixes and four boundaries.

Meanwhile, Usman Khawaja also returned to form, scoring 57 off 121. The duo shared an 89-run partnership for the first wicket. Ravindra Jadeja provided the first breakthrough by dismissing Konstas (LBW), while Bumrah sent back Khawaja for the fifth time in the series.

The five-game series is currently level at 1-1. India won by 295 runs in Perth before Australia staged a comeback in Adelaide with a 10-wicket win. The third Test in Brisbane ended in a draw due to rain interruptions.
