Australian youngster Sam Konstas was urged by an Indian fan to join Virat Kohli in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp following the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25). When asked about his IPL dream during the interaction, the swashbuckling opener expressed his desire to feature in the tournament in the future.

After hearing Konstas' thoughts about the IPL, the fan responded by saying that the 19-year-old should play with Kolhi in the RCB. The fan, named Gurnam Singh, shared the video of the interaction on his Instagram account.

Here's what he told Konstas:

"One day, with Virat Kohli in RCB team. That shows the mateship."

Sam Konstas grabbed headlines on his Test debut, notching up a quick-fire half-century in Australia's first innings in the Brisbane Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He scored an impactful 60-run knock, which included some outrageous shots against India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian fans will have to wait a little longer to catch Konstas in action during the IPL. The batter was not part of the IPL 2025 auction and won't be part of the upcoming edition.

Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas were involved in a heated exchange during 4th BGT 2024-25 Test

Sam Konstas and Virat Kohli were involved in an on-field altercation on Day 1 of the fourth BGT 2024-25 Test at Brisbane. Amid Konstas' counter-attack with the bat, Kohli tried to get under the debutant's skin by sledging him.

The former India captain shoulder-barged the Australian opener, which became a big talking point among the cricket fraternity and fans. In the aftermath of the incident, Kohli was fined 20 percent of his match and handed one demerit point by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Meanwhile, Australia reclaimed the BGT after 10 years with their 3-1 series victory over India. The visitors started the tour with a comprehensive 295-run win in the opening encounter, but the hosts bounced back to pocket the series.

Virat Kohli completed his 81st century in international cricket with an unbeaten 100-run knock in Perth. However, it was all downhill for the ace batter from there as he ultimately finished with 190 runs across nine innings at an underwhelming average of 23.75.
