Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Most Runs Updated after England vs South Africa

England Women and South Africa Women squared off in the ninth match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, on Monday, October 7.

South Africa batted first and posted 124/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to Laura Wolvaardt’s 42 off 39, Marizanne Kapp’s 26 off 17, and Annerie Dercksen's 20* off 11. Sophie Ecclestone took two wickets, while Linsey Smith, Charlie Dean, and Sarah Glenn claimed one apiece for England.

In reply, England chased the target in 19.2 overs thanks to Nat Sciver Brunt’s unbeaten match-winning knock of 48 runs, Danni Wyatt’s 43, and Alice Capsey’s 19. Nonkululeko Mlaba, Nadine de Klerk, and Kapp picked up one wicket each for South Africa. However, it wasn't enough to secure them a victory.

Laura Wolvaardt moved from second to first position with 101 runs after playing a 42-run knock in the previous game. Similarly, Danni Wyatt also jumped to second position with 84 runs.

Sobhana Mostary (80) slipped from first to third, while Tanzim Britts (70) retained her fourth spot. New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine (57) dropped from third to fifth, while Nida Dar, Nilakshika Silva, and Sarah Bryce descended to the next three spots with 51 runs each.

Nat Sciver Brunt (50) climbed up to ninth position, while Stefanie Taylor moved to 10 with 48 runs.

South Africa's Nonkululeko Mlaba moved from second to first after picking up a wicket against England Women with five wickets, while Rosemary Mair slipped to second with four scalps.

Meanwhile, Fatima Sana, Sugandika Kumari, Udeshika Prabodhani, Ritu Moni, Sadia Iqbal, and Arundhati Reddy retained their following positions with four wickets each. Similarly, Megan Schutt and Saskia Horley remained ninth and 10th, repsectively.
