Australian captain Pat Cummins has acknowledged that he will remain clueless if he was in the opposition team and had to bowl to Travis Head. The right-arm pacer heaped praise on the Head for consistently swinging things their way across formats in recent times.

Head's 140 off 141 deliveries proved to be the difference in Australia's 10-wicket win over India in the second Test in Adelaide. The 30-year-old scored at a brisk rate, getting to his hundred only in 111 balls as it gave the hosts a 157-run lead.

Speaking at a post-match presser, Cummins observed how Head hits balls into 'weird areas' and lauded his ability to change the complexion of the game almost immediately.

As quoted by Fox Sports, the 31-year-old claimed:

"He’s done it time and time again for us in many different formats. And he’s super impressive, for sure. It’s always exciting. There’s always something going on. He’s all over the crease. He hits into weird areas and if he feels like there’s a small opportunity, he’ll up the ante and again and just take the game away from the opposition. He’s playing balls through the onside from off stump. (We are) so lucky he’s on our side because I, as a captain, I wouldn’t know how to bowl to him."

Head was also one of the silver linings for Australia amid their 295-run defeat in the series-opener in Perth. The South Australian plundered a classy 89 before Jasprit Bumrah dismissed him.

"Thought it was a Herculean effort from Starcy and Scotty" - Pat Cummins

Cummins equally credited the bowlers for putting in the hard yards in fairly unforgiving conditions in Adelaide, adding:

"It was amazing. Some of the talk this week was around ... do we have enough bowling? And particularly on day one, I thought it was a Herculean effort from Starcy and Scotty. It was hot. It was close to 40 degrees out there (and) humid, and they basically just kept rotating ... and bowling all day. (It was a) huge effort from those guys (and they) showed their class."

The two sides will move to Brisbane for the third Test, beginning on December 14.
