Pakistan captain Shan Masood once again failed to deliver with the bat in the second Test against England in Multan on Day 3 (Thursday, October 17). The left-handed batter departed for just 11 runs off 18 balls to leave the hosts in a spot of bother at 43/3 in the second innings.
Masood has failed to deliver against England after his 151 in the opening Test. Since then, he has managed scores of 11, 3 and 11, respectively.
In 2024, Masood has managed 321 runs in five Tests at an average of 32.1, including a solitary century and lone half-century.
Fans on X trolled Masood for his three consecutive failures after his ton. One user wrote sarcastically:
"Shan Masood ko kaptaan hi rakhna wrna drop ho Jaye ga team sa (Keep Shan Masood as captain otherwise he will be dropped from the team)."
Another user wrote:
"Ye Shan Masood kya sirf angrezi bolne ki vajah se team me hai??? (Is Shan Masood in the team just because he speaks English?)"
A third user added:
"Pakistan have a good lead at the moment but still need a good innings. Shan Masood should have played responsibly."
