Nitish Reddy has received praise from all quarters for his maiden Test century. The 21-year-old was India's standout performer with the bat in their first innings of the ongoing Boxing Day Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Melbourne, scoring 114 runs off 189 balls.
Tollywood star Pawan Kalyan was mighty impressed by the youngster's heroics with the bat. The actor-turned-politician lauded Nitish for his splendid knock by penning down a heartfelt note.
Hoping that Nitish continues to achieve success at the highest level, Kalyan wrote on the microblogging platform X:
"It is not which part of ‘Bharat’ you come from, but what you did for ‘Bharat’. You made our ‘Bharat’ proud. Dear ‘ Nitish Kumar Reddy,’ for making history as the youngest cricketer from Bharat to score a Test century on Australian soil. You showcased your brilliance with a remarkable knock of 114 runs in the crucial fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Stadium."
"May you continue to achieve many more world-class records, take Bharat's flag to greater heights, and inspire the youth to develop an interest in sports with passion and determination. Wishing Team Bharat great success in winning this series," he concluded.
It is worth mentioning that according to a report by The Hindu, Visakhapatnam lad Nitish Reddy is set to receive a ₹25 lakh cash prize from the Andhra Cricket Association for his impressive performances in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also praised Nitish Reddy for his stunning century in the Boxing Day Test against Australia. He wrote a message on X, congratulating the all-rounder on his maiden ton.
Naidu wrote (translated):
"Congratulations to Visakhapatnam youth K. Nitish Kumar Reddy for scoring a century in the fourth Test match of the Border Gavaskar Test Trophy 2024 against Australia in Melbourne. It is even more heartening to be the third youngest Indian cricketer to achieve this feat in Test matches. We know that he has achieved many victories for Andhra in Ranji @NKReddy07 and has also achieved amazing victories in the Under 16 level. I sincerely wish him to achieve more such victories and to be part of the Indian cricket team and strengthen the country's reputation."
Nitish Reddy has been one of India's standout performers in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With 293 runs across six innings at an average of 58.60, he is the leading run-getter for the visitors on the tour.
