Former Team India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh recently shared a video of a kangaroo striking leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal's iconic pose. The cricketer-turned-commentator posted the video on his Instagram story.
Harbhajan tagged Chahal in the story and suggested that he might have influenced the kangaroo to do the pose. It is worth mentioning that Chahal's resting pose at the boundary rope during a 2019 World Cup match went viral on social media.
Sharing the kangaroo's video, Harbhajan wrote:
"@yuzi_chahal23 Ur influence."
Chahal has recreated the pose on many occasions, with the most famous instance being his hat-trick celebration against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Yuzvendra Chahal set to enter the IPL 2025 mega auction
Yuzvendra Chahal was among the notable absentees from Rajasthan Royals' (RR) list of retained players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The inaugural champions retained Sanju Samson (₹18 crore), Yashasvi Jaiswal (₹18 crore), Dhruv Jurel (₹14 crore), Riyan Parag (₹14 crore), Shimron Hetmyer (₹11 crore) and Sandeep Sharma (₹4 crore).
The Rajasthan-based franchise signed Chahal for ₹6.5 core at the mega auction ahead of IPL 2022. He played 46 matches for the side during his three-year stint and bagged 66 wickets, becoming the second-highest wicket-taker for RR in the league's history.
It remains to be seen if RR will look to re-sign Chahal at the auction. Rajasthan have retained six players, leaving them with zero Right to Match (RTM) cards. The IPL 2025 mega auction is set to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25.
Chahal has set his base price at ₹2 crore. With 205 wickets from 159 innings, he is the leading wicket-taker in the IPL. With his stellar record, the veteran bowler is likely to be on the radar of multiple franchises.
