The Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) always struggled to make an impact since 2013 after a few successes in the initial years of the IPL. The side always boasted great talents, but as a whole, the team never fired in unison.

The Delhi side hit an all-time low in the 2014 season when the Kevin Pietersen led side could manage only 2 wins in 14 games. 2 wins in a season is the joint lowest for any side in the history of IPL. The Daredevils finished 8th in the tournament with an NRR of -1.182

The 2014 season saw a total of 2184 runs in 251 overs being scored against the Delhi side, while the Daredevils managed to score only 1980 runs in 263.2 overs.

2018 saw Delhi’s 50% stakes being acquired by the JSW group and the new management has restructured their whole system. The team has also acquired the services of quite a few exciting talents and also improved their coaching department by bringing legends in Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly. The side was renamed Delhi Capitals and with a change in name, the capital side hopes for a change in its fortunes in the ongoing 12th edition of the IPL.

Note: Deccan Chargers in 2008 also managed only 2 wins in the entire tournament.
