#1 Saeed Anwar 194 (1997)
The record that stood for more than 12 years as Saeed Anwar scored the then highest individual ODI score of 194 against India in Chennai. All eyes are on the players when the two giants of international cricket collide and such was the case in 1997 when they met in Chennai for their Pepsi independence dup fixture.
Batting first Pakistan scored 327-5 as Saeed Anwar broke the previous record of the highest individual ODI score. The record stood for more than 12 years and was finally broken by the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar when he scored a double century against South Africa in 2010. In this period only one player matched Anwar's score as CK Coventry of Zimbabwe scored 194* against Bangladesh.
But Anwar's score of 194 remains the highest individual total against team India in ODI history. The Pakistani opener smashed Indian bowler all around the park as he scored at an impressive strike rate of almost 133. His innings consisted of 22 fours and 5 sixes. India lost out the match by 35 runs and Saeed Anwar was rightly named as the man of the match.
