The youngster from Australia, D'Arcy Short was one of the underperforming players in the last edition of the IPL. He scored 578 runs, including five fifties and a century in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2017-18. His terrific performances in the BBL 2017-18 earned him a contract with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in 2018. Royals expected quite a lot from him but he certainly failed to live up to expectations.

During the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League, the Big Bash League (BBL) hero, D'Arcy Short had played 6 games and could score just 115 runs at a forgettable average of 16.42. He was then dropped from the team in the second half of the tournament. Rajasthan Royals should release him and look to bring in someone who can be a reliable partner to Jos Buttler at the top-order.
