Dear Sir,
Greetings!
A strict disciplinarian would be the perception I have had of you, watching you turn and twist the ball during your playing days. Even when you stepped into the shoes of an administrator, the perception became stronger. You, sir, have been made to serve Indian cricket in each and every role. There are some people who just go about doing the job. Sir, you take it as a challenge and bring out the best possible results out of each and every challenge thrown at you. This proves that you are a perfectionist.
Gone are the days when a coach would be a dummy and a silent part of the setup. A person of your charisma will add more flare. You are not someone who will monitor the throwdowns during the nets session. You will add more to it technically. Never ever has a meeting been held in the history of Indian cricket wherein the coach has chalked out a roadmap for each format. Any responsibility can usher the bells of success only if planned well. You have proved that it is not about taking each day as it comes. It is about planning well ahead.
Anil Kumble – the name is enough to have a belief that golden days lie ahead for Indian cricket. Whatever you have touched has turned into gold. Be it the Karnataka domestic side or the Mumbai Indians set up.
Cricket has not remained just a game. A lot of things have been added and it is about keeping pace with these twists and turns. You are the best choice to provide direction in this era of cricket.
Everybody knows Anil Kumble as someone who took 10 wickets in an innings. There are most who know Anil Kumble returning to bowl with a broken jaw. But there are few who know what Anil Kumble is about when it comes to seeking guidance, administering and other parameters which will fall into the managerial bucket.
You have meant business. Yes, you might be a man of few words but your few words are enough to take the Indian cricket to ring in never seen success in test cricket. The ordeals of your planning are unmatchable. Nobody on this earth will plan on monitoring the performance of people going out of the side due to performance or injury issues. It is about creating a pool of players and there would not be any better way to do it.
Sir, I know you would be unfazed by the recent ruckus created by Ravi Shastri. A commoner knows nothing about the episode but can certainly have an opinion. Yours truly believes that your appointment is the best thing to have happened in Indian cricket in recent times. I do not know the authenticity behind Shastri’s allegations. Even if they are true, I would go on and hail Sourav Ganguly. Indian cricket needs a persona like you rather than someone who will blabber crap in the media and would ask Mahendra Singh Dhoni to step down as captain.
Sir, as a cricket fan I have seen a lot of success. I have celebrated each bit with pride – the world cup victory, the champions trophy, Asia Cup, Indian going to numero uno in all formats and what not. Sir, as a kid I used to wake up or stay awake during odd hours of the day just to see India thrashing their opponents in countries like Australia, England , South Africa or New Zealand. Sir, I request you with all my humility to gift me and a billion Indian cricket fans series victories in these countries. Nothing is above test cricket and if we are able to nail the impossible, Indian team would not only be a challenging opponent but turn into a feared opponent.
Thanking you for your decision to hold Indian reins and wishing you all the success.
Yours truly,
A Fan.
