Mayank Agarwal broke a lot of batting records in domestic cricket this season, but he couldn't break into the national side. The opening batsman had a stellar Ranji season for Karnataka. He scored 1160 runs in just 8 matches at a staggering average of 105.45. Agarwal also did well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He is currently with the India A squad which is touring England and has been scoring big runs consistently. However, with Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay and KL Rahul performing well in the recent past, the selectors are already spoilt for choices for the opening slot and Agarwal is the unlucky one to miss out.
