A classical left-handed batsman with a penchant to score big when given the opportunity, Shaun Marsh has been a regular member of the Australian squad for some time.

He showed his batting prowess at early age dismantling bowlers in the Australian domestic circuit but the selectors seemed to have been turning a blind eye towards him. It was his performance during the inaugural IPL season that he was seriously considered for the international squad.

Playing for Kings XI Punjab, Marsh played like a man possessed scoring 616 runs in just 11 matches at an astounding average of 68.44, numbers that were unheard of at a time when T20 cricket was still in a budding stage.

He immediately earned his international call-up after the commencement of 2008 IPL season for Australia's tour of the West Indies. He scored 81 on debut and bagged the MoM award justifying the selectors' faith in him.

Since the 2008 IPL season, Marsh has played in 37 Tests, 60 ODIs and 15 T20Is. He was an integral part of Kings XI Punjab for quite a few seasons in the IPL.
