Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the fourth one-day international in Colombo to take a decisive 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
Chasing 257 for victory, Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad (95 off 90 balls) and Azhar Ali (33 off 28 balls) wasted no time in getting off to a brisk start. Mohammad Hafeez (70 off 88 balls) came in at No. 3 to carry on the good work.
Eventually, the visitors claimed the win with 9.1 overs to spare.
Earlier, the Sri Lankan innings looked in a good position when Tillakaratne Dilshan (50 off 59 balls) and Lahiru Thirimanne (90 off 126 balls) were at the crease for their 2nd wicket partnership, but thereon stuttered on to make 256 for the loss of 9 wickets.
Mohammad Irfan’s 3-50 was the best bowling figures on the day.
The fifth match will be played in Hambantota on Sunday.
