The Pakistani cricket team will have a tightly-packed schedule in 2023. Majority of their upcoming matches are in the white-ball cricket format. It is an attempt to prepare the Pakistani team for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Pakistan will be playing one Test match and three ODI matches in January against New Zealand. It is a home series for Pakistan and the Test matches will be vital as they will determine the team’s qualification in the second ICC World Test Championship.

After the completion of the New Zealand-Pakistan series, the West Indies will be touring Pakistan. They will play a three-match T20I series in January. The itinerary for the series is yet to be announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
In the months of April and May, New Zealand will be again touring Pakistan for a white-ball series. Due to the cancellation of the 2021 New Zealand Tour of Pakistan by the Kiwis citing security reasons, New Zealand cricket promised a series to be held in 2023 as compensation. It will be a long tour with both of them playing 5 T20I matches and 5 ODI matches.

Next, Pakistan will be touring Sri Lanka for a 2-match Test series. The matches will take place in July 2023. These Test matches are a part of the 2021-23 ICC World Test Championship qualification stage.
In August 2023, Pakistan will be facing Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series. The series will occur in Afghanistan or a neutral venue chosen by the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
The following month, Pakistan will be taking part in the 2023 Asia Cup, held in their home country. This time, the competition will be taking place in the ODI format with each team playing two matches in the group stage.
Then, Pakistan will be taking part in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, held in India. The tournament will span from 26 October to 26 November.
Pakistan will end their year with a three-match Test series against Australia. The away series will start sometime in December and extend till January 2024.
