Patrick James Cummins is a professional fast bowler who represents the Australian cricket team in international cricket across all formats. He is primarily a right-arm fast bowler and has the added ability to score vital runs lower down the order with the bat. Cummins initially made waves in 2011, taking seven wickets in a thrilling Test win against South Africa. However, persistent back injuries had interrupted his progress. After six years of rehabilitation, he returned stronger, quickly rising to the top, becoming the world’s No. 1 Test bowler, and earning Australia’s Allan Border Medal.

Following Tim Paine’s resignation, Cummins seamlessly transitioned into Test captaincy, retaining the Ashes and leading Australia to historic success in Pakistan. His effective leadership continued in the ODI format, with a standout performance at the 2023 World Cup. In late 2021, Cummins received the role of Australia’s Test captain, later leading his team to victory in both the World Test Championship and the 2023 ODI World Cup. Notably, Cummins once held the record for the fastest IPL fifty and briefly became the most expensive player in IPL auction history before Mitchell Starc surpassed him.
