Cook is followed by Kevin Pietersen, who has 23 Test hundreds (7.87 innings per hundred), and Hammond, Cowdrey, Boycott and Bell, who have 22 hundreds to their names.

The stylish left hander, who holds the record for most Test runs for the island nation, has scored the most hundreds for his nation. One of the best wicket-keeper batsmen to have played the game, Sangakkara has 38 hundreds to his name. His centuries have come from 233 innings, which is 6.13 innings per hundred.

Jayawardene and Aravinda de Silva are the next two in the list with 34 and 20 hundreds respectively. Jayawardene took 7.41 innings for each hundred and De Silva took 7.95 innings for the same.
