Prithvi Shaw, just 18 years old, has already been hyped as one of India's batting mainstays in the near future. He has been in sublime form for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2018.
There is something about Mumbai and cricket which has churned out lots of quality players like Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and many more. The most prominent of them is none other than Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, who went on to become the greatest batsmen of this generation.
In fact, Australian legend Mark Waugh stated that Prithvi's technique is quite similar to Sachin Tendulkar and could become one of the worlds finest batsman. Let us find out the reasons why Prithvi will be a player to watch out for.
#5 Special Talent
Sachin Tendulkar had retired from international cricket and a few days later, Prithvi Shaw came to limelight smashing 546 runs in a Mumbai based Haris Shield elite division match, a world record that stood until 2016.
From then on, Shaw has never looked back and has taken giant strides in his career. He was offered exposure stints in England twice and has also played as an opener in the Mumbai Ranji team at such a young age of 18.
#4 Strong technique
Prithvi Shaw is already known for his great defensive technique, complemented with aggressive batting. After being spotted as a young prodigy by the Cricket Beyond Boundaries, a global sports exchange programme, it helped Shaw attend the Cheadle Hulme School in Chesire.
Shaw grabbed the opportunity and pitched in with an impressive all-round performance, picking up 68 wickets and scoring 1446 runs, including a hundred on his debut.
Shaw performed in tough English conditions and has scored lots of runs in Ranji trophy, this speaks volumes about his strong technique and temperament.

Shaw has become an integral part of the Mumbai Ranji team and will play a crucial role coming into the next season.
