Former India batsman and captain of the Indian Cricket team, Rahul Dravid is perceived to have a reserved personality and keeps a low profile off the field. He has always kept his personal life away from the media's eyes.

Rahul Dravid's sons have already entered the world of cricket and seem to have made quite a name for themselves. Under their father's mentorship, both the boys have represented the U-14 team for their school and are scoring big with the bat.

Samit Dravid

Samit Dravid, Rahul Dravid's elder son,, has always been seen in the stands cheering for his father throughout Dravid's IPL days. Many of the athletes were also left amazed by the energy that junior Dravid possessed throughout his early teenage years.

Samit chose to pursue a career in professional cricket just like his father and has already made a name for himself in junior cricket. Besides cricket, the young boy also enjoys swimming, music as well as traveling.

Samit was coached by his father himself, who is a retired Indian cricketer and has also been a captain of the Indian national team. Currently, Dravid is the Director of Cricket Operations at National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru, and also watches over the development of the India U-19 cricket team and India A cricket team.

In the midst of all of his professional duties, Dravid has mentored his elder son, following which Samit made his domestic debut in the U-14 level for Bangalore United Cricket Club (BUCC) in the year 2016 at the Tiger Cup cricket tournament. He smashed 125 runs against Frank Anthony Public School. Unlike his father, who has been a defensive batsman throughout his career, Samit Dravid has turned out to be an attacking batsman.

Junior Dravid's U-14 Heroics

Samit grabbed eyeballs in December 2019 as he knocked a 250-ball 201 in Karnataka State inter-zonal tournament at the Under-14 level. He was leading the Vice-President’s XI against Dharwad Zone in Kolkata. Samit's innings comprised 22 boundaries whilst he also added an unbeaten 94 in the second innings and got 3 wickets too.

Earlier, in the year 2015, whilst playing for his school, he scored three half-centuries in match-clinching efforts for his team at the Under-12 level. Three years down the line, in the year 2018, this teenage sensation posted a spectacular 150 against Vivekananda School in KSCA’s BTR Cup U-14 tournament match.

After seeing him bat, former Sri Lankan legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan said that he sees traces of Rahul Dravid in Samit's batting.
